What if I have questions and want to speak to someone?

If you need answers right away to questions about federal student aid, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center between 8 a.m. and midnight (eastern time), seven days a week:

The Federal Student Aid Information Center can

  • assist you in completing the FAFSA;
  • explain federal student aid eligibility requirements;
  • explain the process of determining financial need and awarding aid;
  • provide you with Federal School Codes you may need when applying;
  • tell you whether a school participates in the federal student aid programs;
  • tell you a school's student loan default rate;
  • send you federal student aid publications;
  • tell you whether your FAFSA has been processed; and
  • assist you in obtaining a copy of your SAR.
